Quickstart Checklist

 

1. Set up your account

  • Download a two-factor authentication (2FA) app on your mobile phone. Learn about 2FA/MFA. 
  • Look for the activation email from [email protected] to set up your password and 2FA. 

2. Protect your business

  • Follow the prompts to download the sensor and protect your endpoint(s) (laptop, etc.). Learn how to set up your protection.
  • Add users so they can download the sensor onto their endpoint. Learn more about how to add users.

3. Manage your account

  • Bookmark your login URL for easy logins in the future.
  • Set up email notifications so you know when Falcon has detected a breach on your endpoint(s).  Learn more about email notifications.

If you had a Falcon Trial...

You will not get an account activation email. Instead, use your trial account information to log in; your email address, password, and login URL will be the same.

The first time you log in as a customer, you'll be prompted to set up 2FA/MFA.

2FA/MFA Requirement for Login

The terms "two-factor authentication" (2FA) and "multi-factor authentication" (MFA) are sometimes used interchangeably.  2FA/MFA apps provide a single-use verification code to log into your account, in addition to your password. Your password is the “first factor” of authentication and the code from your 2FA/MFA mobile app provides the “second factor” of authentication.

 

This adds an extra layer of security during the login process, which is why it is required by CrowdStrike. 

 

When you log into CrowdStrike Falcon for the first time, you will see a prompt that asks for a code from your 2FA app.

 

There are many free and paid 2FA apps available. Common 2FA apps are: Duo Mobile, Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator. Find an app that meets your needs and download it onto your mobile phone.

 

IMPORTANT: Remember the mobile app you used. This is the 2FA/MFA app you will use every time you log in.

 
 
 
 

How to download the Falcon sensor

First, makes sure all other antivirus solutions have been removed from your devices. On the Summary tab, click Download sensor.

 

Click copy to copy your Customer ID (CID) and click the Download sensor button associated with your operating system.

 

After the installer is downloaded, read and accept the terms and conditions and privacy notice. Paste the CID that you copied earlier into the first blank field. Click INSTALL to install the sensor.

 

Note: If you had a trial and previously downloaded the sensor, you may not need to re-download the sensor. Refer to the section above for Falcon Trial users.

 
 

Sign up for email notifications

With email notifications, you can stay aware of the most important updates you need from CrowdStrike, like when there's an important detection or high-priority incident in your environment. 

 

To enable email notifications, open the menu in the upper left hand corner and select Support and resources. Then, click on General settings.

 

Scroll down until you see Manage list for incident and detection emails. Enter your email address under Send email notifications to: and hit enter or return on your keyboard to complete the signup process. You can add any email address associated with your Falcon account.

How do I access or update my subscription and payment information?

Open the console menu in the upper left-hand corner, select Host setup and management, then click Manage subscription at the bottom of the right submenu.

 

From here, you can update your payment information and add licenses. If you need to decrease of licenses, contact the ecommerce team. 

 
 

How do I reset my password?

Go to the login page that was linked in your activation email. Enter your email address and click  Continue. Then, click on Reset password below the login button. 

 

You should receive an email within 15 minutes (please check spam or junk folders). 

If you have any issues, contact the ecommerce team. 

 
 

How do I add users with a different domain? 

Contact the Support team  to request additional domains for your CrowdStrike account.

 

We recommend using the subject line, “Request to add additional domain(s) to account”. You will need to use the same email address connected to your account.

 
 

How do I install CrowdStrike to my mobile phone or tablet?

You'll need to use Falcon Mobile, a separate module (product), which can be purchased through our sales team.
