By 1947, its runways and perimeter roads became the battleground for intrepid motor car racing forming the foundations of modern motor sports as we know it. When Formula 1® launched its World Championship in 1950, Silverstone had the honor of hosting the very first race, won by Giuseppe Farina in his Alfa Romeo. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of the sport, producing unforgettable moments and cementing its legendary status.
